Burton’s own Sonic Boom Music CIC takes over Band on the Wall in Manchester
An unmissable quadruple-headliner night, curated by Sonic Boom Music CIC and Chris Hawkins (BBC Radio 6 Music) — connecting two vibrant grassroots scenes and shining a light on four standout artists shaping them.
BODY WATER – Why write about love when you can write about serial killers? Electronic Rock duo BODY WATER are ready to start a REVOLUTION. But be warned...it's not for the faint hearted!
JOEL FOSTER – Indie-pop singer-songwriter from Burton upon Trent with big ambition and an even bigger voice. Heartfelt, powerful, and made for connection — 2025 is set to be his breakout year.
LEAH WILCOX – Gritty, romantic, and impossible to ignore. Burton artist, Leah delivers glittering indie pop-rock with 70s flair and a self-described “countrygaze” twist. Her live set channels love, chaos, choreography and pure charisma.
RUBY J – 19-year-old Midlands artist blending soul, R&B and indie with a knockout vocal style. Tipped by Paloma Faith and compared to Amy Winehouse and Tina Turner, she’s shared stages with Jamie Webster, Becky Hill and Scouting for Girls.
About the Promoter -
Sonic Boom Music CIC is a not-for-profit organisation based in Burton upon Trent, where we’re building a sustainable music infrastructure from the ground up — a place that’s been underserved for a long time. We run a town-centre festival with a free main stage, a youth training programme for 15–25-year-olds, and artist support events throughout the year.
This Manchester show is a significant step for us. It’s our first time taking the Sonic Boom brand outside the Midlands — not just to platform artists from Burton and Manchester, but to grow new audiences, forge cross-regional links, and test how the identity we’ve built translates into new spaces.
We’ve curated this lineup in collaboration with Chris Hawkins (BBC Radio 6 Music), and we’re proud of the four artists involved — all original, distinctive, and on the rise.
