Burton Music Collective is here to kickstart our town’s new music community. For too long Burton has been, well, a bit too quiet.

OUR VISION

Burton Music Collective believes in music’s power to shape a new future for Burton. Because we’ve done it before; from the 75 Club to The Refinery, The Telescopes, The Leisure Society and Riding The Low, through our vibrant metal, folk and jazz traditions, our town has an enviable music heritage.

Yet, right now, we don’t have a live venue dedicated to new music and little infrastructure to support the local music community. 

OUR MISSION

Burton Music Collective is here as as a first step to change this.

Thanks to support of The Brewhouse Arts Centre, Burton Music Collective will be supporting an initial run of live gigs with a series of £700 grants and mentorship for local musicians, promoters or music lovers - anyone with a great idea - to put on a live gig in Burton this November!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for ambitious and fantastic ideas. That may be a night of experimental electronica in an industrial space, heavy dub in a pub back room, twisted anti-folk in Burton Library or emerging indie bands in a working men’s club. The scope is only limited by your imagination.

REQUIREMENTS

All we stipulate is the show needs to take place in Burton and needs to feature at least 50% Burton artists on the bill. 

WHAT YOU GET

Not only will selected live gigs receive up to £700 towards the costs of putting the show on, successful applicants will be invited to take part in a series of workshops with Burton Music Collective and national music industry professionals to help realise their project. The selected shows will also receive extensive promotion across our collective networks.
